Is Licensed to Draft a law firm?
No. Licensed to Draft sells document templates. Buying a template does not create an attorney-client relationship, and nothing here is legal advice.
Who writes the documents?
The documents were written in plain English and reviewed by an attorney. They were written for the moments that tend to go sideways in a freelance business.
Do I still need a lawyer to look at my contract?
No attorney reviews your edits to these documents nor your specific situation. Laws vary by state, so please consider having a licensed attorney in your state review your final documents.
What do I get, and in what format?
Editable Word files plus a PDF Usage Guide that tells you when to use each document and how to fill it in.
How do I receive my files?
You can download them right after checkout. Your order confirmation email also has a download link.
Can I use a template for more than one client?
Yes, for your own business. Please don't resell or share the files.
Will these work in my state?
The templates are general. Rules on late fees, interest and written contracts differ by state, so check yours or ask a licensed attorney in your state.
Which kit should I choose?
See the comparison on the Shop page. "Try It" is one document to start with, "Core Kit" is the full set for a project, and "Premium" adds the forms for scope changes, sign-off, late payment and cancellation.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final because these are digital downloads. We want you to be happy, so if you have any issues or concerns, contact me within 7 days through the Contact page and I will work with you to resolve them.
Do you have kits for my specific field?
More niche kits are on the way, starting with photographers. The "Be First To Hear About New Kits" box in the footer saves your email.
